Are hands free breast pumping bras worth it?
I would dearly love to be able to pump without breaking my wrists trying to hold the bottles and breast shields just right... I am pretty large chested (42DDD) and the girls aren't exactly "perky" these days. Are the hands free bras actually as useful as they look? Not sure if they keep good suction. I have a Medela in style pump on the way, so that's what I would be using.

Wait until you start pumping before you get one of those bras. I am a DD but I understand what your saying, but honestly it's not hard to hold it and pump. Literally make sure your nipple is in the middle of the cone, and tada your good to go. Another reason those bras are pointless for me is because so far right now it only takes me maybe 10 minutes to do BOTH breasts when i pump. I have the pump in style advance. As for the breaking of the wrists, once you get it on there you can just hold the cone to the breast with 2 fingers, like have it between your pointer and middle finger.

Features You Should Look for in a Bigger Sized Bra
Designing and making bras is not just an art – it's a science, especially when it comes to bras in larger sizes. You can't simply ‘scale up' all the components of a smaller sized bra as the bra simply won't be able to contend with the additional weight of a larger bust. Plus it needs to allow for the fact that larger breasts site differently to small ones. That's why it's a great idea to turn to plus size bra specialists who have years of knowledge and expertise in this area. Then you can be assured of the very best in support.
More sections to the cups
One of the reasons that you can't just ‘size up' bras is because the structure of the cup needs to be adjusted. Although some bras, such as seam-free bras, are moulded out of a single piece of fabric, usually smaller cup size bras are made out of two sections of fabric stitched together. A fuller bust obviously requires a fuller cup, and you cannot achieve a nice rounded shape with only two sections. That's why most bras alter their structure in larger cup sizes. Look for three section cups, which will give you a great shape.
Reinforcements
This isn't as drastic as it sounds! Basically the materials in bigger bras need to work that little bit harder so sometimes a single layer of lace or mesh isn't enough. Many bras have additional layers of fabric in the bigger sizes, either a fine layer all over on the insider of the cup, or just to the lower sections of the cup. Underwires may also be made from a stringer material to take the weight of a bigger bust.
Deeper back band
The main support in a correctly-fitting bra should come from the back band, which is why it's so important to get the fit right. If it's too loose it will leave the shoulder straps to take the strain, which can lead to poor posture and pain from digging in. A well-made plus size bra will have a deeper back band for extra support for a heavier bust. This will make the bra much more comfortable to wear. In addition, you'll also find they often have more hooks and eyes at the back.
Wider shoulder straps
Despite the point above, your shoulder straps do still take some of the weight of your bust. As you can imagine, the heavier the bust, the more pressure is placed on your shoulders. Thinner straps will obviously dig in more, so many bigger bras have slightly wider straps to distribute the weight over a bigger area.

Just because a big size bra has all these additional features does not mean it can't look good as well. Although once upon a time, large bras were very plain and matronly affairs, these days plus size lingerie is just as gorgeous as underwear in smaller sizes. Don't settle for second best – your bra can be sexy as well as supportive, no matter what your size.
Value
Last but by no means least, make sure your bra is good value for money. This doesn't mean cheap! Good plus size bras can be a little expensive sometimes but if they make you look and feel fantastic then they are worth every penny. Just make sure you care for them properly to prolong their life span. Make sure you are not being charged extra for the extra features. Even though they take a higher level of craftsmanship to create, a good plus size lingerie retailer will not charge you more for the bigger sizes than the smaller sizes.
